Look at the camera, not the screen:
- Looking at the webcam while speaking gives the impression of eye contact to the other party.
Consider lighting, positioning and background:
- Pay attention to how you appear during setup.
- Ideally, place a light source in front of you and avoid bright light sources (eg windows) directly behind you, as your face may not appear clearly.
Dress code:
- We recommend that you dress exactly as you would for a regular face-to-face interview.
Login to your account:
- Log in ahead of time to complete the HireVue system setup.
- The software then checks your webcam, your Internet connection and your microphone to inform you in the event of a problem related to one of the elements of your equipment.
- If the test is successful, you can close your browser and come back later to complete the interview when you're ready.
Perform the test questions:
- Taking the test questions will help you familiarize yourself with the style and pace of an on-demand interview.
- These are not real interview questions and the company you are applying to will not be able to consult them.
Be yourself :
- Going for an interview can be nerve-racking. Taking an on-demand interview allows you to take the interview at your convenience in a location of your choice.
- Relax and have confidence in yourself.
What to do if my connection is lost during maintenance:
- No worries. Close the browser, reopen it, return to the interview invitation and start the interview again.
- You will resume from the last question you did not answer.
- If you lose connection while answering a question, your answer may already be submitted when you resume your interview. In this case, it is better to complete the interview and inform the company you are applying to about your connection problem.
