While completing your OnDemand interview you may be asked to complete a set of game based assessments. These games are included to help you demonstrate your potential potential abilities and skill!
Similar to other games you might play, there may be device and/or browser specifications and settings required for optimal loading and display of the game elements. How your device and browser of choice manage resource allocation can impact how your gaming assessments may appear. Distorted characters and blurry displays have been reported by candidates using Chrome or Edge on Windows devices with limited resource availability.
To ensure that you are able to complete your game assessment without encountering any issues, such as a compromised display, please proceed with the games via any of the three options for success described below:
-
HireVue for Candidates app
This is our top suggestion for completing any interview assessment on a mobile device. Complete your games with the free HireVue for Candidates app on iOS or Android mobile devices. To download the app, for Apple devices, go to the App Store; for Android devices, go to the Google Play Store. You can find more information and instructions on how to get started with the app here.
-
Firefox or Safari browsers
Complete your games on either a Firefox or Safari browser. Both Firefox and Safari browsers rely more on software/browser-based resource allocation as opposed to hardware. This means Firefox and Safari as browser options load and display games reliably without relying heavily on hardware resource specifications.
-
Disable hardware acceleration setting in Chrome or Edge browsers
If using Chrome or Edge as your browser, the hardware acceleration feature within browser system settings must first be disabled to complete games without the risk of distorted display. By following the steps below you will be able to unenabled this feature in your Chrome or Edge browser:
-
- First, in your Chrome or Edge browser, let's have you go to browser system settings.
- For Chrome, copy and paste the following link in your browser to access: chrome://settings/system
- For Edge copy and paste the following link in your browser to access: edge://settings/system
- Once in your browser settings, under system settings, toggle off the "Use hardware acceleration when available" setting.
- Once toggled off, relaunch your browser (refresh your page, or you may need to exit out of your browser and reopen) so the setting change can be applied. Once your browser has been relaunched, you should be able to proceed with the games without blurriness or distortion.
