Troubleshooting Interview Upload Issues

If your HireVue interview responses are stuck during upload due to connection interruptions, follow these troubleshooting steps based on the device you're using.

Browser-Based Interview (Computer)

Try these solutions in order:

  1. Refresh the interview page
    • This often resolves temporary connection issues
  2. Restart your modem/router
    • Unplug your modem and router for 30 seconds
    • Plug them back in and wait for full reconnection
    • Return to your interview
  3. Connect to a different network
    • Switch to a more stable connection if available
    • Try a mobile hotspot if other networks aren't accessible

Browser-Based Interview (Mobile Device)

If you're using a mobile browser for your interview:

  1. Refresh the interview page
    • Tap the refresh icon in your browser
  2. Switch connection types
    • If on WiFi, try switching to cellular data
    • If on cellular data, try connecting to a WiFi network
  3. Restart your device
    • Power off your device completely
    • Turn it back on and reopen your interview

HireVue Mobile App Upload Issues

If your upload is stuck in the HireVue for Candidates app:

  1. Force close the app (don't worry, your interview data remains on your device)
    • On iPhone/iPad:
      • Double-press the Home button (or swipe up from bottom on newer models)
      • Find the HireVue app in the app switcher
      • Swipe up on the app to close it
    • On Android:
      • Go to Settings → Applications → Manage Applications
      • Find and select the HireVue app
      • Tap "Force Stop"
  2. Reopen the app
    • The upload should automatically resume
  3. Additional solutions if the problem persists:
    • Switch connection types (from WiFi to cellular or vice versa)
    • Close all other apps running in the background
    • Restart your device completely, then reopen the app

Important Warning

CAUTION: Do NOT uninstall the HireVue app while uploads are pending. Uninstalling may cause you to lose your recorded responses, requiring you to re-record missing questions.

Once your upload completes successfully, your interview will be marked as complete and the recruiter will be automatically notified.
