Allowing camera and microphone access on a mobile device
If you’ve received the error ‘Camera and Microphone Access Required’, this means your device is currently not allowing the browser to use your camera or microphone in order to complete the interview. To allow this access, follow the steps below:
*Please Note: These steps are specific to providing steps for Chrome on an Android device. If you are not using Chrome on an Android device for your interview, please see the following articles for how to grant access to the camera and microphone in Safari on an Apple (iOS) Device, or our guide for using the HireVue for Candidates app.

From your browser window, tap the three dots in the upper right-hand corner of your browser URL bar |
Tap on ‘Settings’ |
Select ‘Site Settings’ |
Locate the options for 'Camera' and 'Microphone' |
Beginning with 'Camera', make sure that the toggle is switched on for 'Ask first' |
'Ask First' will prompt a pop up in the browser that will ask permission for a site to use the camera/microphone be sure to choose 'Allow' when presented this option in the interview Now, return and repeat this step for your Microphone |
Click out of the settings and tap ‘Try Again’ on your interview page to proceed to your interview! |
If the above steps are unsuccessful, you can also try changing your settings to ‘Allow’ or ‘Always Allow’. If you are still unable to proceed, you can try downloading our mobile app from the Google Play Store or by clicking here.
